Rainbow River Chapter NSDAR was formed in 2016 by 21 local women seeking to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism in the southeastern Ocala area. We meet on the third Saturday of the month at 9:30 a.m. from September until June (unless otherwise noted) in order to include as many lifestyles as possible. Our members include professionals, mothers, veterans, and retirees.
Our chapter enjoys diverse projects benefiting military veterans, active service men and women, local JROTC programs, our local women’s shelter, and local literacy causes. We are also concerned with education about and conservation of our namesake, the Rainbow River. These are just some of our ongoing interests and initiatives. We have other shorter term projects that are added from time to time. In addition, we support the projects of our President General and our State Regent.
We are growing. We welcome all women eligible to join DAR to grow with us. If you are a DAR member and have just moved here to southern Marion County, we would love to help you transfer your membership. If you have questions about DAR or our chapter, please contact us.
